Why our collars hang below the neck
Our collars hang below the neck for a number of reasons. Their low center of gravity keeps them from rotating or shifting as the animal moves, so there's less need for mid-season adjustments.
That same position fits a larger, longer-lasting battery and lets the solar panel work more efficiently, making year-round grazing possible even in forests and low light.
It's also protected from the wear most collars face: tree-rubbing, and getting caught in a tight squeeze chute.
The chain also keeps consistent electrical contact, one of the reasons Nofence has achieved a 99.7% containment rate.
The proof is in the pasture
”I never thought I'd be a virtual fence person, but now I can't imagine not having it. It has changed the way we manage cattle.

”This technology gives me the freedom to farm smarter. It's a game-changer.

Do you have dairy cattle?
Nofence is built for dry cows, bred heifers, and replacement stock, cattle that graze extensively and don't need daily hands-on management.
Our collars are not designed for lactating cows in the milking herd, which require daily, hands-on management. Collars can be rotated seasonally between dry and lactating cows.
